A/N: unbeta. I know where will this story goes. But I’m not sure if I can update it every week. I’m having a hard time, and i’ve there’s so many things that I want to say, but I can’t say it. so… my words somehow end here/and it’s not what I really want to say/
Chapter 1
Ohno swear he has tried. But the man he has spend his life with for this almost 10 years has changed, and Ohno didn’t know what to do.
He didn’t blame Nino though. They just lost their son in an accident, and it was Nino driving it. Ohno understand how much guilt the man bear by himself, that it drove him to depression. Nino hasn’t spoken to him since the day he woke up. Most of the time, he spent his time alone, staring at the empty wall before his tears flows from the corner of his eyes. And every single time he wanted to wipe the man’s tears, Nino will push his hand away, or he will move from where he is, leaving Ohno alone.
A week. Or maybe more. Ohno decided that they should wait for Nino to fully recover before doing the funeral. And along the period of time, Nino refuses to say a thing to him. He’s cold to the man, and Ohno was dumbfounded, unable to find the reason though.
Ohno knows how much Nino loves Shin. Despite the selfish stingy attitude he has, there’s always a soft spot in him for Shin. No matter how tough the request is, he’ll grant it without a whine. He spend most of his time with their son, playing the game together, laughing at each other whenever one of them lost. And maybe that’s the reason why it affected Nino so much when Shin died.
And the fact that he’s the one driving the car during the accident, makes everything even worst.
Ohno hates it. He hates seeing Nino feeling depressed by himself. Things happened, and nothing he can to turn it back. And that’s the reason why he needs Nino to move on. Because he can’t live watching his love one hurt like this.
He didn’t remember anything along the process, it’s painful. Just when it done, Nino’s the first one to take the ashes into the urn before they leave the cremation house in silent. And once again, Ohno didn’t really remember the process when they’re at the graveyard. The only thing he remembers is when he saw how Nino wipes his own tears that never stops from the beginning.
They walk home in silent. No matter how many times Ohno tried to take the man into his embrace, Nino will push him away. And when he found Nino’s hand, trying to entwine their fingers together, nino will pulled away, making the awkward between them even worst then before.
The only thing he can do is sighing.
“He’s a good son,” ohno tries his luck to begin a conversation. Nino nods
“He is,” is what Nino replies afterwards before he paused biting his lips. “Apparently I’m not a good parent,”
Ohno’s eyes widen. He turned his head to take a look at Nino. His gaze was empty. Ohno wasn’t sure what’s in the man’s mind anymore.
“what are you talking about, Kazu? Of course you’re-“
“Why don’t you just let me go, Satoshi?" Nino cut him, obviously feeling annoyed. "There’s nothing hold us anymore. if before shin was there, he was the strength to our marriage. The one who hold what between us. But now he’s gone. There’s nothing holding you back now, what are you waiting for?”
Ohno was speechless. Unable to comprehend what is the man trying to say. There are tears on Nino’s cheeks, but ohno sure if he ever tries to wipe it away, Nino will push his hand like always.
Of course it wasn’t what he wants. Yes, their son was one of the factors they stay. But Shin wasn’t the only reason. He loves Nino. So much that’s it’s hurting him watching Nino’s condition now. So much that the thought of living his life without the man scares him. Breaking up with Nino is the last thing he ever wants to do in his life. He loves Nino, that’s what that keep him stay.
Both of them stop walking. For a moment, none of them speaks a word. Ohno opened his mouth once, close it again when nothing left his words. But nino was determined. Ohno swear he saw a trail of tears at the corner of the man’s eyes. Before his hand could reach Nino’s cheeks, what Nino says next stops him.
“Let’s get divorce, Satoshi”
