Part Three
Months passed. Ohno had lost counting.
Of course, the Jimusho knew how to handle the situation well. They have enough recorded shows that Nino’s absence didn’t make any difference to them. The fans didn’t notice the chaos within the group and none of the things happened made it to the news
He missed everything about Nino. The man’s smile, laughter, tease, warmth. Everything. But the distance between them just grew even wider, the wall that was created was even higher. Nino never let him have the chance to at least break the wall between them. He would either go stiffed or left instantly even before Ohno could start to speak.
But he couldn’t blame Nino. Especially when he’s the reason to everything that had happened. Still, watching Nino moving on from him was so hurtful. He knew Nino was being serious about moving on from him, and he knew that he will never stand a chance for them to be together again.
He kept staring at the man in the greenroom. It had been his routine, trying to figure out if there’s a chance for him to make up for every mistake he had done before. Or sometimes, it wasn’t for a reason. He just loved watching Nino, hoping, imagining for them to be like before. At the same time, promising himself if they ever get a chance for the word ‘together’ again.
Watching Nino adding ‘meeting with counsellor’ inside his schedule pained him. Sho was right. He had caused damage towards the man. His insecurities, his broken heart leading to what happened before.
“How worthy is this relationship to you, Oh-chan?”the man asked him that one day a year ago. He frowned as a respond.
“Huh?”
“We never tell the members about it. I just hope…” and then the man stopped. There’s a disappointment and hesitation when he said it. Maybe that’s the reason why he left his words hanging, not once continuing it again.
If only he wasn’t blind that time, maybe he could see how insecure Nino felt about them. But he didn’t. And now, maybe, Nino might have seen how Ohno never took anything between them seriously. And he took it as a lesson; that he shouldn’t give Ohno another chance. Because the one who took everything for granted doesn’t deserved that chance.
Ohno bitterly laughed at his own thought. His own stupidity.
“It has been a long time since we have our dinner together,” Ohno’s train of thoughts stopped abruptly when Aiba suddenly broke the silence. He frowned watching Aiba who was sitting next to Sho with the man’s arm wrapped around him, grinning “shall we go today?”
“I’ll pass,” Nino replied almost immediately, not even bother to lift up his head from his DS screen. His fingers professionally smashed the buttons, eager to win the level.
“Just once, please Kazu,”
“No,” he paused, scanning across the room but turned away immediately when his eyes met Ohno’s. “just no,”
A shot of pain was felt when he saw Nino’s reaction when their eyes met earlier. And the fact that Nino was turning down the invitation because he was there made it even worse. All of a sudden, he shivered, trying to hold the pain he felt inside his heart from growing even more.
But then, Nino’s stubbornness didn’t stay for long. Until Sho stood from his seat, snatching the DS from his hand. Nino was about to protest when Sho stopped him from saying anything, putting his index finger in front of the younger one’s face.
“In case you’re forgetting, which I know you are, Nino. It’s my birthday today. I’ll take a great offence if you don’t come with us tonight,” Sho said, saving the game just because he knew how much trouble he’ll put himself into if he didn’t.
Nino sighed. “What a trouble,” he said rolling his eyes, but no matter how annoying he was in saying it, Sho know Nino didn’t mean it that way
******
That night went surprisingly fine though. At least Nino didn’t completely ignore Ohno, though the other three could see how awkward the conversation was.
Ohno couldn’t help watching Nino who was sitting in front of him. Watching the man smile, laughing when Aiba suddenly came out with stupid, silly jokes made Ohno feel sad somehow. The thought that the man’s happiness wasn’t because of him made him felt like his life was useless.
It was just a beginning.
“Congratulations for your 33 years old birthday, Sho-chan,” that was where everything started.
Ohno didn’t say any words, however, he watched how Aiba, Jun and Nino being extra giggly, teasing the birthday man.
“33 years old… what are you going to do? Or at least plan to do?” Jun suddenly asked, making Sho to frown, thinking of any possible answer.
“I’m getting married,” he said, jokes were in his tone. Ohno couldn’t help but smile watching Nino who was laughing as he watched Aiba who was looking at Sho, mouth wide open.
“To whom?” Aiba asked.
“You,” Sho replied, making Aiba to blush. Sho laughed hard when Aiba punch him on his arms.
“Stop joking. Like seriously.”
“No, I’m serious. I’m, dead serious, Aiba Masaki. I want to marry you. I’ll book the ticket to Hawaii next week, because both of us are free at that time, and I’m just going to invite a few people for the ceremony,”
Ohno was drowning in his own thoughts again. He could hear the people around him laughing, yelling with excitement at Sho’s sudden proposal, but at the same time, Ohno couldn’t bring himself along with the happiness.
Sho’s words somehow made him thought how lost he was. He had the chance to have an eternal love with the man before, but he ruined it by hurting the man. How he wished it was him who said all those words to Nino instead of Sho to Aiba.
That was the moment when his and nino’s eyes met for a brief second and Nino quickly avoid his gaze.
Something snapped inside him. Nino has moved on from him. There wasn’t even a slight hesitation when the man avoided his gaze. And there he saw it; the happiness inside Nino’s eyes as they talked about their current topic; marriage. His heart ache. An image of Nino in his tuxedo, smiling as he took someone else’s hand, vowing for eternity before they kiss flew in front of him, shaking him to the point that he couldn’t even hold his own glass.
His tears betrayed him. Before he could wiped it away from everyone’s sight, someone already noticed it.
“Ohno-san, are you OK?” it was Sho who asked. From the corner of his eyes, he could see how the others were throwing him concerned look. Nino on the other hand refused to look at him.
Ohno chuckled. What was he really hoping for now? Nino had made it clear enough no matter how desperate he was, there’s no possible chance for him anymore. The word us simply doesn’t exist between them anymore. He was chasing after nothing.
He poured the beer into his glass, drinking it in one shot, before he put back his glass with a loud thud onto the table.
“Tell me, everyone. No matter how much I beg, there’s no possible way for us to be together again right?”
Nino’s eyes widen upon the man’s statement, but nothing left his mouth.
“Tell me, Ninomiya. We’ve heard Sho-chan’s declaration tonight. Of course the Sakuraiba will earn their happy ending because none of them was being a jerk like me. None of them took for granted of what they had between them. None of them loved each other for nothing. They’re so much different from us. Now tell me, Kazu. After them, will you announce your marriage, leaving me behind, and let me regretting all the things that I’ve done?”
No one said a word. The only thing that they could hear was the sound of the other customers in another room cheering over things that they were never interested to know. The happiness earlier completely gone from the room.
The frown on Nino’s face earlier never faded though. Watching Ohno in that kind of state hurt him, despite the fact that the man had caused so much pain on him before. For god sake, he was the man that he had loved for years. Throwing the feeling away wasn’t as easy as what people say.
But for them to be together again, it’s too much. He couldn’t imagine himself being hurt again. Not after all the encouragement he got from his other band mates.
He watched how Ohno was being giggly afterwards, pouring the beer into everyone’s glass before he brings his glass to the air.
“Yosh! Let’s celebrate this happy news now everyone. Happily ever after to Sho-chan and Aiba-chan. Blissful life for Jun-kun just because he deserved it," he paused, his sight focused on his ex lover. "And last but not least, happiness, just the way he wanted it for the only one, Ninomiya Kazunari, the man who I has took for granted. And sorrow for me, as a punishment for the things I have done to him. Kampai!!”
At this point, Nino wasn’t sure if Ohno was too drunk for his brain to function properly or maybe he was being sincere enough. The glass that was raised was left without anyone responding to it. But before anyone could rise though, Ohno has pulled it back, started drinking the whole glass in one shot.
“More!” the older man said, ignoring the four pairs of eyes on him. Everything felt so blurry for him, his future especially. It was a few months ago, when they still shared the same dream, to live forever together. But now he was hearing the words from Nino and the pain he felt was stabbing him from every directions. They’re nothing now, but it felt so hurtful, so damn painful. But he couldn’t blame the man. Nino deserved happiness, and he’s finding one. Who was he to stop the man from having one?
The pain was too painful for him to bear, he drank one last glass, before his unconsciousness took him away. His head onto the table, producing one loud sound as it happened. His tears flow freely onto the table, and he didn’t even bother to wipe it away.
But the next thing he heard was like giving hope to him.
Sho was helping him to stand when his other hand was wrapped around another person’s shoulder. For the first time after those months that had passed, Nino’s voice was so close to his ears.
“Let me, Sho-chan,”
“But-“
“Believe in me. Just this one time. He still deserved an explanation, and I will give him one once he is sober enough. Just let me take him home. “I’ll send him home, and I promise I’ll just leave after that. Please, just trust me this time,”
Nino doesn’t sound convincing though. His voice was shaky as he was saying it.
Ohno didn’t bother to care about what the others were saying afterwards, but one thing for sure; he was snuggling closer to the man, enjoying the warmth that he has been missing for months.
But the thought of Nino hating him appeared in his mind, making him feels useless.
They were outside of the restaurant, waiting for the taxi when Ohno pushed Nino away; quickly removing his hand from Nino, startling the younger.
“I can take a taxi,” he said, trying to walk but kept losing his balance and Nino kept helping him from falling. “You hate me, right,”
Will Nino say yes? Or will he say no? How much damage will that man’s answer caused him? But still, he kept waiting for one despite of the risk of being hurt by the answer. But in the end Nino doesn’t. Instead, he took the man’s hand, wrapped it along his shoulder, helping the man to stand straight and still.
“You’re not in the state to say that, Ohno-san. You don’t want to wake up in a stranger’s house again and please, stop struggling,” he said,
“You don’t hate me?” Ohno asked.
“I don’t want to answer that question, so could you please keep your mouth shut?” Nino replied, annoyance in his tone.
But Ohno laughed. Nino’s annoyance before was always the cutest thing to him. Somehow, he snuggled even closer to the man when they’re finally in the taxi, enjoying the warmth of the man that he has been missing for months.

Rather than any sexual I would Ohno to look at him real close and saying sweet things to him and some kisses maybe? Not sexual but more on loving side. Check forehead and all.
Ahhhh.. but in angst fic like this, it's almost null thing to hope for. I doubt Nino would just let Ohno trapped him in the wall like that. Let alone letting him kiss him for a long time. Haaaaaaa... *sigh*
I would just hope for an happy ending and perharps some epilogue. :D

Date: 2015-03-25 05:11 am (UTC)Haha it's ok if you have made it!
No I do not remember who wrote it but it is not the first chap in One More Chance.
It is the part with only Ohno, Sho, Aiba and Jun in hospital hallway. But the same plot as I had written. I do know that there are conversation and Ohno revealed to Sho that they used to be a couple and broke up then Sho threatened Ohno on this thing.
I'm pretty sure it is in some of the dialogue in chap 1 of One More Chance.
“You can say you want to love Nino again. but let me remind you what Sho-san has said just now. we’ll be there for him if you ever try to hurt him again. and if you did, we’re not afraid to kill you and make it looks like an accident. Bear this in mind, Ohno-kun because I’m in the same boat as them. Hurt Nino, say goodbye to your life,” Jun threat the older man. he gritted his teeth as he was saying that, trying to controlled his emotion and his voice from getting louder.
The part where Sho said he is not afraid to hurt him and made it look like an accident.
You sure it's not yours? *confused*
Then whose it is?
I totally thought it's yours cause it is actually the part where Sho is making some conversation there. It also include the part where Jun punch Ohno.
You're welcome. :D
