At first, nino thought, maybe because they’re grow older, when Ohno starts to avoid all the skinship they usually do, in variety or concert. So he doesn’t mind that. but then, it troubles him so much when he saw how close both Ohno and Jun whenever they begin all what the fans call member-ai. Here, Nino knows, it’s something else happened between him and ohno, but he can’t figure it out.
He try to back to the root again. Maybe because both of them are busy, their schedules never match each other lately. While his schedule match with Aiba, Ohno always with Jun. maybe the older man has start getting closer to the younger one, he thought. But that shouldn’t stop them from all the sweetness they make infront of the camera. Their habits. It just happened.
Ohno averted his gaze that day. In fact, ohno has been averted his gaze for the past few month. No matter how many times he tries, he never succeeds to gain for ohno attention. And when one day, when he heard that Ohno had invited Jun to his house, jealousy hits him.
It’s not lover-kind of jealousy. He means, people has been talking how close they are, how people simply said that they are bestfriend in Arashi. Inseparable one. But it takes him 15 years before Ohno finally agreed to go for a dinner with him. it takes him 1000 times to ask Ohno to invite him to his house, but not even one succeed. But today, without jun asking for it, he invite him to his house.
Yes, he is jealous. And doubt. Doubt of what did ohno thinks about him? did he really that man bestfriend? Or it just an act to satisfy the fans?
But when he thinks about it, yeah, Ohno never tell him. it was people speculating around that they’re bestfriend. While he keeps convincing they are bestfriend, ohno might think another way around.
Maybe.
He got his chance to ask the older man about it one day, when finally, their schedule match. It’s only the two of them left in the greenroom, but none of them speak a word. Ohno just read the fishing magazine, while he keeps on playing with his DS.
It is the third time he lost the stage, when finally he breaks the silent.
“ne, Oh-chan…” he begins.
“um?” the man answered, not bother to take away his look from the magazine he currently read.
“ano.. can I go to your house today?” he asks, trying his luck. This time, Ohno lift up his head from the magazine, throwing the younger one a guilty look.
“sorry. I just finish my art. My house is so messy. It’ll be embarrassing if I let you to go,”
“it’s ok. I can help you tidy it up,” he insists, trying to not give up.
“but.. I don’t really… you know. my art things. I guess..” seeing the older man trying to find an excuse, nino stops.
“it’s ok then,” he cuts the older man from continuing, telling his excuse.
“maybe, next time.. ne, Nino,” ohno said, trying to coax the man. But Nino has give up. Not exactly give up. The right word might be fed up.
“it’s ok, you don’t have to..” he said, sulking in his tone. But Ohno is just too dumb to realize.
It’s another moment of silent before Nino breaks it again.
“what am I to you, Oh-chan?” he asks, causing the older man to startle by the sudden question.
“what’s that?”
“we’ve been friend for more than 13 years now. It takes me 10 years after Arashi debut to succeed inviting you for dinner, only the 2 of us. And that only once. Takes me so many times to wait for your invitation to your house, and not even once I get that. why is that kind of treatment I get from you when I am the closest one to you?”
Maybe because of shock, ohno didn’t come with any words.
“why is it so easy for you to go out with everyone else, but not me?” getting no answer from the older man, he sighs before lean at the couch, not bother to take a look at the older man anymore.
“what happened to us lately? It feels like my presence to you is no longer important, I’m invisible to you right?”
“that’s not it..”
“that is it!”
“your jealousy in so unreasonable, Ninomiya!”
“Jealousy? Yes, I am! Because my bestfriend no longer pay his attention on me! why?”
“you can’t control me to have a new friends, Nino,” he replies, this time, soft.
“I’m not controlling you, ohno-kun. you can have a new friend. I’m totally fine with it. just don’t forget me. you have your new friend, but you leave me behind. That’s what I fuss about!”
Hearing those words, ohno stares at the younger one. Has he leaves the man behind? Maybe, he didn’t realized it. come to think again, they no longer as close as before. Their schedule is the one to blame. But when they happened to have the same schedule, their habit from the old time has no longer become one. Nino didn’t sit next to him every morning, and he didn’t borrow nino’s shoulder to lean, sleeping while waiting for their day to begin.
It’s no longer there.
“you’ve change,” is what Nino says next, before leaving him alone in the greenroom.

It takes him one whole night to try to understand what had happened between the two of them.
“you’ve changed,”, “you have your new friend, but you leave me behind” those words keeps on wandering inside his mind.
Maybe, Nino’s is right. But he doesn’t mean it. He might have done it without realizing it. not until the younger one mentioned it last night. and he just want to make it right again.
Hence when he enter the green room this morning, he can’t help feeling glad to see the gamer sitting at the long couch, the one they often use to sit together before.
“morning, he greets the members who already came earlier than him, but his eyes focus on the gamer who response by a little nod, not taking his eyes from his DS.
Ohno was about to make his way to the long couch, when suddenly Nino stand up, throw his DS inside his bag, before saying “I’m going to the toilet,” not really focusing his words to anyone, before goes out from the room. 5 minutes later, when he comes back, he no longer went to long couch. Instead, he fills the empty single couch, continues whatever he was doing just now.
Here, ohno feels lonely.

It is 2 weeks after that, ohno tries his luck.
“nino,” the gamer who’s busy packing his stuff, turns.
“what?”
“wanna go to my house?”
“can’t do. I have something to attend,”
“what about tomorrow, dinner?”
“also can’t. my schedule is full for the whole week,”
“jaa… maybe next..”
“you don’t have to work hard to please me you know,” he cuts the man. “I’m sorry about last time. I shouldn’t said that. you have rights to have a new friend. I just need sometimes to adapt with it,”
And then he leaves. Once again, Ohno feels lonely.

“ah.. oh-chan!! coincidence enough? Come, join us. Ninomiya-kun is here too,” Maru excited voice didn’t excited him enough. Instead, curious and angry fills him at the same time.
He remembers Nino’s words last night. “my schedule is full for the whole week,”. Remembering those words, he can’t contain his anger. But no, he won’t show it in front of Maru of course. He just walks into the bar, to see Nino sitting alone at one of the table. He could see the startle look on Nino’s face, but later, the man just nod a little acknowledging his presence before turn his face to his side while taking a sip of beer from his glass.
At this point, Ohno has already annoyed.
None of them speak a word. They let Maru to do all the talk by responding with a nod or an “um”. From the way Maru’s doing; no nervousness, less shy while nino’s sitting next to him, ohno makes a guess that they must have hang out a lot lately. He can’t help to ask.
“you guys.. hang a lot?”
“eh? Why?” maru asks while Nino makes an annoying face.
“no.. just.. you lost your nervousness. Not like last time,” this time, maru laughs.
“well, lately ne. we do hang out a lot.. coincidently and with plan,” Ohno fakes his laughs.
“people can change, Ohno-san. So does he,” Nino replies, which Ohno doesn’t know if it is sarcastic or he really means it. he just replies it with “yeah…”
They continue for another topic before Maru excuse himself to get another bottle for them.
“I thought you told me your schedule is full for this whole week?” he asks coldly, taking a sip from his glass, not even a glance to the younger one. Nino shrugs.
“it is…”
“still you make some times for Maru, but not for me?” this time, Nino chuckles sarcastically.
“what’s with that “old-married couple” question? I thought you heard clear enough when he said we hang a lot coincidently and with plan? This is coincident!”
“like I will believe your words,” ohno smirks.
“it’s up to you. I’m not bother explaining to you,”
“you went out for a drink with him, Ninomiya. When I did ask you for dinner last night!” ohno tries to control his voice from yelling out loud.
“what the… you declined my offer so many time, Oh-chan! last night is the first time I declined yours. And you make such a big fuss about it? you’re unbelievable!”
This time, Ohno decides to not reply with anything. He knows, single word from him, both of them won’t stop arguing.
Nino has a point though. He makes a big fuss for something simple as that. but he can’t help feeling offended about it. maybe that’s what Nino feels about it all this time. and yes, he feels jealous of Maru.
Maru comes back with two bottle of beer after a while. It’s didn’t take a second for Maru to sit when Nino stands, grabbing his bag along.
“I need to go now, sorry,” he said, pulling out his wallet.
“eh?? But I just took this,” maru says, pointing at the 2 bottles.
“sorry. You guys go ahead. I need to go. Sorry,”
Ohno watches as Nino walks towards the bar, putting a few notes on the table, before put on his mask and leaves the bar.
“weird,” Maru said, a little disappointed in his voice while pouring the drinks into Ohno’s glass.
“Did Nino… treat us? I thought seeing him paying just now,”
“maa.. he always treat me when we went for a drink together… what’s wrong?”
“nothing, just… curious,”
Apparently Nino did treat them that night.

“seriously, Nino. Let’s go for a drink. You treat me last time, let me treat you this one time,” Ohno begs.
“No. as how much I love people to treat me, but no. sorry,”
It does never get any better. Nino really feels offence maybe. Who won’t? they’re close, but all the special treatment goes to other members, not even one he get it. well maybe at work, he get it. but when it comes to personal time, no. ohno realized that he’s being biased.
But how can he make it right, when Nino keeps on avoiding him?
“just asks Jun-kun, or Aiba-kun or Sho-kun. I won’t mind,” grabbing his stuff.
“jaa.. I’ll asked Jun later,”
“good,” nino replies with one word, heading to the door. He stops once before opened the door. “otsukare,” and then he leaves him alone in the room.
A big plan fails. He thought that maybe when he said about inviting Jun, Nino will give up his sulking, and go out with him. but no.
Just then Jun walks in to see their leader standing stiff in the middle of the room.
“what’s wrong?”
Silent.
“Riida…”
“nothing. I’ll take my leave now. Bye,” and then he leaves the room.

But he did invited Jun for some drink that night.
It has been countless time of sighing, and Jun has been annoyed watching troubled Ohno decides to ask.
“what’s wrong?”
“have i… changed?”
“huh?”
“nino said I’ve changed,”
“it’s about that cause you to looks, feels this miserable?” jun laughs. “you guys are really something,”
“I’m serious here, Jun. I don’t know when this start, but I think I start to ignore him a lot. I don’t realized it of course, but when he said it aloud, I know I already put myself in a mess. And now he start ignoring me,”
He pauses for a moment.
“I think, I’m losing my bestfriend here,”
Jun chuckles.
“tell that to him,”
“tell what?”
“do you love him?” jun asks, a little curious in his tone.
“I do. Not that kind of love, you baka!” he says watching Jun makes a disgusting face, he smack jun’s head soft. “I mean, I love him, the same way I love you guys. I don’t think that I love you guys as friends. It’s more to family kind of love,”
Jun nods.
“but, I think I’m being biased. I went out a lot with you guys, but not even once with him. once, and that just once. I think I’ve hurt him,”
“riida..” jun take a deep breathe before begin again. “I think, you don’t understand Nino enough,”
Their conversation left hanging with Jun’s last words.

“Let’s play a game!” Aiba begins; to break the silent fills their greenroom. “let’s janken. Whoever lose, the two of them will be tied by these handcuff, until the next time we meet them,”
Nino smack him hard on his head.
“first, Aiba-chan. tie isn’t a right words. 2nd, did I heard them? you mean, more than 1 person? And third. This game is ridiculous. The next time we’re going to meet again is tomorrow afternoon. How on earth is this acceptable? not to mentioned, you have this kind of preference? tying someone on you-know-what?” Aiba laughs.
“Baka, of course not. it's just for fun. what? Are you scared?”
“not scared idiot! But the game you proposed is just didn't make any sense. It just..” Nino didn’t continue his next words when he saw Aiba pouting before moves to the corner of the room with the two handcuffs.
He hates it. How easy he fells for Aiba whenever he do that. he just can’t see Aiba pouting, makes him surrender to whatever the man wants.
“Fine! I won’t lose! No freaking way I’m going to stay here all night long,” he says, rubbing his hand together. He didn’t notice how Sho, Jun and Aiba smirks mischievously.

While Nino has no single idea on why he and Ohno lost that stupid janken (well at least, he knows Ohno will lose because that man is sucks when it comes to that), Ohno makes a single guess that actually hit the spot.
“I think, matsujun, Aiba-chan and Sho-kun has planned this before us,” Nino throws him a glare.
“what do you mean?”
“isn’t it suspicious for the three of them to win at the same time? and while our decision is coincidentally same, it’s just… maa…”
Nino sighs. Hearing Ohno’s explaination, it could make sense. After all, the coldness between both he and Ohno has makes the other three takes notice. He didn’t tell Jun anything about the reason why he act that way, but he did told Sho and Aiba before. And Ohno might have tell Jun after all. It’s possible the three of them comes with this stupid game to help both of them.
But he didn’t know how this will help any of them to get any better.
“I’ve had enough,” ohno stands up, causing the poll to produce a loud crashing sound as they were cuff one hand to the poll inside their dancing room. “I need a wire,”
“what for?”
“I think I still remember some techniques from my drama before,” Nino didn’t respond, not making an effort to make a moves to find whatever Ohno want. It’s a moment later, ohno finds a wire and start working to un cuff his hand. He succeeds 15 minutes later.
And no, he didn’t make any effort to un cuff Nino’s next.
“hey you,” he calls him, annoyed. “do this,”
This time, Ohno smirks.
“don’t want to,”
“why,” he asks, confuse.
“if I do, you’ll leave like always,”
“what…”
“you always leave me alone lately. I just want to spend more time with you now,” Ohno replied, causing Nino to fell silent. Seeing this, Ohno makes his way to the younger one before sit facing him.
“stop staring. You’re scaring me!” Nino says, pulling his face away from the man who’s been staring at him with a smirk on his face.
“what? You’re scared?”
“of what?”
“scared that I’ll make what our fans think about us, , expressed in their fanfic, comes to reality?”
“if you’re going to rape me, of course I am!”
Ohno laughs.
“I miss us. I just want us to be like before, but you keep pushing away, why?” he asks, still staring the younger one, making him feeling uncomfortable.
“you’re the first one to change Oh-chan. I just.. “
“I agree,” he cuts the gamer from continuing his words. “ I agree that I’ve change. But I didn’t realized it. not until you mentioned it. when you mentioned it, only then I understand, I’ve hurt you,”
“you’re not”
“don’t lie. I know you did. And when I want to make it right again, you keep pushing me away,”
“I’m giving you some space oh-chan. you said it before. I can’t control you from making a new friend,”
“but you ignore me after that!”
Silent.
“I don’t know what you want anymore,” Nino replies after a while.
“I just want my bestfriend back,”
“I always there, Oh-chan. eventhough when you didn’t need me. eventhough how many time you pushed me. eventhough you treat me differently from others. I always there. just… you don’t see me,”
He didn’t realized it when, the next thing he realized, Ohno is embracing him.
“from now on, I won’t. I will treasure you like we did during our golden day. I won’t leave you behind. Though I’ll go out with someone else, you’ll always be my precious one. My precious bestfriend,” he hugs the younger man even tighter. “please stop leaving me alone. It’s…hurt.”
Silent.
“say something,” he pleads.
“Oh-chan…” nino starts.
“hmm?”
“this position. You hugging me, while my hand hanging like this is seriously awkward. Could you please un cuff me. please?”
This time, Ohno laughs. Slowly, he let go of the younger man, smiling and nodding to his request. His works this times went fast. 5 minutes since he begin, he finally un cuff the younger man.
It’s an involuntary action. He didn’t mean it, he swear when all of sudden, he kiss Nino on his forehead.
“what the hell? why on earth did you kiss me like that? you weird creature,” nino scream at him, throwing the small cushion.
“I’m sorry. i don't know why. I’m so sorry.. wait, you’re leaving?” he is some kind of panic when nino doesn’t respond him. “you said you won’t leave! You’re liar!” he throws the small cushion back to Nino.
“wow. Relax! I won’t, you weird! Though I think I should, after you kiss me like that,” watching ohno pouts, he laughs.
“let’s stay here for a night, Oh-chan. you said, you wanna spend some more time with me. let’s do it then,”
“but I’m hungry…” Nino smug.
“jaa.. let’s grab something to eat…” he grabs his stuff, before look once again at the older man. “your treat,”
Ohno never argue.

“ne, you didn’t love me in that kind of gross way right?”
“nope…” he says, munching the food. “I love you in the same way I love Jun-kun, Sho-chan and AIba-chan. I love you like a family. Though… I love you more than the other three,”
Nino chuckles.
“Bias,”
“anything for my precious Nino,” his answer makes him receives a soft smack on his head.
But, one thing he sure. His answer has makes Ninomiya Kazunari satisfied enough.
